Star of the Week - Sisley      Kindness Ambassador - Obi         Resilience - Rayyon

This week was busy, busy, busy for Year 3. The children started mapping out the plans for their narratives, roles playing the story of Hercules and the Numean Lion, which they will use as inspiration for their own story. They came up with alternative monster ideas, problems and solutions, and some general details, from which they will begin their detailed plan next week. In maths, they continued to learn about time, working with both analogue and digital clocks. In PE, the children began learning how to play rounders, and had an absolute blast playing football rounders. The final score was 9.5 rounders to Cherry Tree and 11 rounders to Fern! In science, Fern learned about the lifecycle and anatomy of a flowering plant, and really enjoyed dissecting some flowers to find the seeds in the carpel. We rounded off the weekend with a great history lesson, in which the children learned about the expansion and eventual collapse of the Roman Empire. After absorbing so much information, I hope you have a restful and relaxing weekend Fern class!
