Week beginning 10th June 2024

We have been learning about William the Conquerer and the Battle of Hastings in 1066 this week. We looked closely at the Bayeaux Tapestry and tried to order the events leading up to William the Conquerer's reign as King of England.

In RE this week, we have been learning about rules and acceptable and unacceptable behaviour. We learnt that despite our downfalls, Jesus always loves and forgives us.

We have been learning about shape patterns and turns. We have been using the vocabulary of anti-clockwise, clockwise, quarter turn and half turn.

As part of our Local Area Week activities, Year 2 embarked on an exciting educational journey to the River Roding. The children were able to observe the diverse plant life and the various landforms that make up the physical features of the River Roding. They also learned about the impact of human activities on the river and its environment, gaining a deeper understanding of the local area. This immersive experience not only enriched their knowledge but also fostered a greater appreciation for the natural beauty and significance of the River Roding in our community.
